Geneva Superintendent Dr. Bob Young told Time Warner Cable's YNN Rochester that Cooper collapsed with about a minute left in Geneva's 27-13 victory in the regular-season finale.

"It's a hugh loss for the district, huge loss," principal William Rottenberg told YNN.

Two of the coach's four children play on the team. Colin Cooper is a highly regarded prospect who has attracted interest from several college programs.

"If he would have wanted to go out any kind of way it would be on the field," Colin Cooper said. "His life was kids and football."

S.S. Seward coach Joe DiMattina picked up his 200th career win with a 5-0 victory over Tri-Valley in Grahamsville. Gladys Loyas scored four goals for the Spartans.

Tickle 'em pink: Williamsville North and Sweet Home really went the extra mile yesterday to promote breast cancer awareness at their swim meet, which North won by a 115-65 score.

Not only was the natatorium filled with pink balloons and ribbons, but during the day Sweet Home swimmers took their caps around the school and had classmates sign for a $1 apiece to raise over $400. The teams generated another $200 by passing their caps around during the meet.

"It was really a great thing to see both teams coming together," North coach Doug Cassidy told The Buffalo News.
