William Miller was dumped for flashing his backside after the 'Roos lost to Campus Magnet on Saturday. Miller is not a school employee and was not paid, Margie Feinberg, a spokeswoman for the city Department of Education, told the paper.
The tushing moment came at the somewhat chaotic end of Boys & Girls' 16-6 loss at Campus Magnet after Kangaroos coaches became embroiled in an argument with game officials over whether a two-point conversion by Campus Magnet with 3:49 to play was successful.
No players were involved in the post-game histrionics.
Sledge's selection: Iowa State has dipped into metro New York to land its point guard of the future.
Five-foot-9 Tavon Sledge, who helped Half Hollow Hills West to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class AA final last March in Glens Falls, made the commitment today to attend next fall, Adam Zagoria reported.
Sledge has also been considering St. John’s and UTEP recently.
He averaged 17.8 points a game as a junior and was a second-team all-state pick by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Sledge's counterpart at point guard in the state final also announced his college decision. Galal Cancer of Albany CBA will attend Cornell next fall, FOX 23 Sports reported this afternoon.
Cancer, a seventh-team all-stater, averaged 10.2 points as a junior. The 6-2 standout was also considering SUNY Albany.
