Union-Endicott Duals wrestling tournament to defend its championship.
The Plainsmen began the weekend tied for No. 1 in the New York State Sportswriters Association large-school rankings. Spencerport was No. 5.
Zach Joseph pinned Enzo Sachotti in 1:30 in the 120-pound bout to give Shenendehowa an insurmountable 41-18 lead with two matches remaining.
Shenendehowa defeated Monroe-Woodbury 51-25 in the morning semifinals, while Spencerport rolled past John Glenn 51-16. Monroe-Woodbury took the third-place match over John Glenn 58-19.

Quinton Murphy became the winningest wrestler in state history on Saturday by winning the 138-pound final in the 31st Niagara Frontier Wrestling Officials Tournament at Niagara County Community College.
Murphy won the final with a technical fall over Lewiston-Porter’s Dan Reagan. He was selected the meet's outstanding wrestler after pinning or tech-falling all five of his opponents.
“It was pretty cool that it was in the finals,” Murphy told The Batavia Daily News. “It was one of the bigger tournaments in Section 6.”
Murphy, a three-time NYSPHSAA champion and Indiana University recruit, is 276-12. He broke the mark of 275 by Cody Ruggirello of Valley Central.
